Brittle Stars were a band of four college kids who came together by mutual association and a love of great music. After quickly bringing their ideas together into a collection of cohesive songs, the band sent out some demo tapes with fingers crossed. Shelflife Records offered to release the band's debut album, recorded by Michael Pecchio and released in Autumn 1999. Japanese Label Tone Vendor (a now-defunct label, from which we lovingly co-opted for the name of our own company - with their permission, of course!) licensed the album for Japan the following year; Texas-based label Ruined Potential released the album on limited vinyl 10" in 2007; and Japanese label Fastcut Records reissued the album in 2011. Each time, each label, each format -- all of these pressings sold out, some enduring multiple pressings.

Now, 27 years later, we are extremely proud to present the reissue of Brittle Stars' debut album on Dan's own Tonevendor Records imprint. The entire album was meticulously remastered for vinyl by Michael Pecchio, creating a richly-unique listening experience for anyone already familiar with these songs. The album is pressed on black vinyl (limited to 200 copies) and D2C-only red vinyl (limited to 100 copies). The LPs were manufactured at Audiodrome Record Pressing in Gainesville Florida, currently the only record pressing facility in the U.S. that is fully powered by solar energy. Additionally, the album is pressed onto cassette (limited to 100 copies) for the first time, as well as a new run of CDs (also limited to 100 copies).
