Release date: 7/17/2026
Gapeseed's debut album released in 1994 was a '90s mathrock statement. Remastered in 2026, "Lo Cell" will be pressed on 180-gram vinyl.
New York City’s 1990s math rock titans, Gapeseed, wrote and recorded “Lo Cell” at the peak of their creativity and frenetic, dystopian songwriting. In the years following Sonic Youth’s redefining independent rock music, bands like Polvo, Don Caballero, Drive Like Jehu, June of ’44, Poem Rocket and Gapeseed among others crafted dissonant, complex arrangements later to be heralded as ‘90s math rock.
