Yellow Magic Orchestra - Photography by Masayoshi Sukita

In June 2011, YELLOW MAGIC ORCHESTRA played shows in Los Angeles and San Francisco, marking the first time in 31 years that YMO has performed in the United States. To commemorate this show, an American edition of "YELLOW MAGIC ORCHESTRA x SUKITA" by photographer Masayoshi Sukita, which was released by TOKYO FM in 2010, will be available. What significance does the universality and newness of YMO have for the younger generation in America? Their music, and their history as captured by world-renowned photographer SUKITA, will take a new step forward in the United States.

All photos, text, chronology, and comments by YMO+SUKITA have been re-edited for the American market. An essay by David Toop has been added, and new comments are provided by Africa Bambaata, William Gibson, and Toshio Nakanishi (Plastics) in addition to David Bowie, Yoko Ono, Jim Jarmusch, and others.
