Underground Lovers released Weekend in 2013 after an 8-year extended hiatus. It was a surprising return to musical innovation and exploration exploring themes and genres in a new world.
The album was the first and only Underground Lovers record that was crowdfunded. It reached its target in a day! Weekend was greeted with an ecstatic response from fans and favourable reviews from music critics, making Best of lists in that year. Featuring radio favourites Au pair, Can for Now and Haunted (Acedia), the Underground Lovers toured around Australia in support of the record to a delirious fan base and gained the band many new followers.
