It's been nearly a decade since we last heard anything from Roy Thirlwall (who led the excellent Windmills and Melodie Group, both on Matinée Recordings), but here we have his newest project, and it's just as lovely as anything else in his musical oeuvre! If you know his other bands, then you'll have a good idea of what to expect; if not, then imagine an updated version of East Village or the Orchids. Basically, this could've been recorded 25 years ago, were it not for the crisp sound quality. However, unlike his previous two projects, this time the vocals are mostly from his collaborator, Michelle Bappoo, though Roy does a fair amount of singing - and, boy, do I ever love his voice!
