Released 20 years ago on the UK label, Ochre, this is the very first time Barstool Blues has been available in any format outside of Europe. Three songs from the original release do not appear on this version, however, there are four (never been released) demos that are exclusive to the new version. The album tracks feature a core of LA musicians (Jim Laspesa on drums, Scott Halper on bass and co-producer, Morley Barnoff on keys, Probyn Gregory on horns and Rick Gallego on accordion) recording songs about places and people. The last song - a demo called Pestilential City - was originally worked on and considered for Baby Lemonade’s The High Life Suite but the band decided it didn’t quite fit with the other songs. The “Lendal Cellars demo” originally appears on the (rare) Japanese version of “My Music Loves You” and has never been available anywhere else or on any format outside the Filter Records CD in Japan.
