Paul Simpson was a founder member of The Teardrop Explodes, and is best known for his work as frontman of Liverpool post-punk band The Wild Swans. Their single ‘The Revolutionary Spirit’ so typified the genre that Cherry Red Records chose it to name their box-set focussing on the ‘second wave’ of Merseyside music. Alongside a new Wild Swans album, his autobiography ‘Revolutionary Spirit - A Post-Punk Exorcism’ is published in 2023.
