The Washington D.C. based noise pop band The Heartworms was comprised vocalist/guitarist Archie Moore (of Velocity Girl, The Lilys) and girlfriend, vocalist/bassist Trish Roy (also in Belmondo), along with Chisel drummer Chris Norborg and Sabine's Chip Porter. The group began in 1994 and issued their first single "Thanks for the Headache" on the hip Darla label later that year. Space Escapade, The Heartworms' debut LP, followed in 1995; the Enemies EP appeared in 1996. -- Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide
This disc was the band's first full-length, and it immediately caused a stir in the independent pop music scene. The disc begins with "Thanks for the Headache" from their first single, followed by a fuzzy and bright-sounding version of Blondie's "Sunday Girl" with Roy on vocals. It's followed by Moore leading a cover of Brian Wilson's "Girl Don't Tell Me." Radiohead's "Creep" is also covered on the disc. Overall, the album is an early, spacey take on indie pop/rock.
