Rafa Ramos Sania is a versatile musician, performer, and composer who works both on solo projects and in collaboration with various musical groups and visual artists. His experience as a performer is rooted in a self-taught background and his ability to play multiple instruments, with a particular focus on the double bass, which he has specialized in since 2003. Sania's new album, 'A Broadcast of Your Silence' is his first for Lost Tribe Sound.

A Broadcast of Your Silence came about almost by accident, after several failed attempts to write for solo double bass.
 It turns out Rafa Ramos Sania needed more than just technique —he needed an emotional spark. The trigger was the constant stream of war and violence Ramos kept hearing on the radio. Then, over the course of just four days, these pieces emerged. Each track was composed in a single day, driven by the same emotional current. There’s no virtuosity or ornamentation — just a double bass in dialogue with sonic landscapes built from Sania's archival recordings of the instrument itself, as well as field recordings, detuned radio sounds, and gentle electronics. This is music born of urgency, of the world’s noise, and of what that noise stirs within.
