Sprites - Modern Gameplay

SPRITES is Jason Korzen (formerly singer/songwriter of BARCELONA) with his wife Amy Korzen sharing vocals. Ivan & Christian (also formerly of BARCELONA) help out too. Modern Gameplay is as full of new wavey, often self-efacing, electronic pop songs (with guitar) as classic Barcelona CDs Zero One Infinity and Transhuman Revolution. This time SPRITES have created a Computer Geek classic!  As fans of punk/pop & new wave (1978-81) SPRITES pay homage to a distinct group of the period's artists: The Suburban Lawns, Gleaming Spires, Sparks, DEVO ...mostly the great Suburban Lawns! The SPRITES sound shows Jason's love for the original new wave art rockers while the themes are contemporary, just as they were with Barcelona (see the song titles below). Style-wise, it's 1978. Be the first at your school to cut your hair short and wear 501s, Vans, and a thirft shop JC Penney's Oxford button down shirt.  Awesome cover art reminiscent of Some Girls by Mark Robinson, TeenBeat Graphica.
