Claire Welles - Anhedonia   [PREORDER]

RIYL: Todd Rundgren, Brian Eno, Bowie, Julian Cope

Claire Welles is a North Liverpool-based left field pop artist with an extensive and vastly eclectic back catalogue spanning three decades and 21 albums. She has built a reputation as one of Liverpool's most distinctive underground artists.

Live, she has supported the likes of Jane Weaver, toured with Tim Burgess and performed on festival stages including Kendal Calling and Sound City.

Claire's early work was completely analogue and very lo-fi, utilizing a 4-track cassette recorder, guitars, synths and drum machines. In recent times Claire had developed her sound by recording entirely digitally, using Ableton at her home studio, with a far more electronic hi-fi pop sound. Claire also self-produces and mixes all her albums.

"Claire Welles creates an electronic kaleidoscope of sounds, with lyrics spanning an ocean of topics." - Silent Radio

"Coursing through her entire collection are sociopolitical lyrics which are both very funny and wrought with personal observations.” - Louder Than War
